VILLA QUIRIMBA FEATURES & ROOM DESCRIPTIONS

This luxury villa is made from local materials and constructed in a typical Mozambique style and roofed with palm thatching called 'makuti'. It is ocean-facing and commands its own position on the beach.

The villa is designed and positioned to capture as much of the ocean breeze as possible keeping the interiors at a comfortable temperature. From every room, the views of the Indian Ocean are breathtaking of the white coral beaches and the blues of the Indian Ocean are virtually indescribable ranging from cobalt and turquoise to ultramarine.

The island is located in the Quirimbas Archipelago, a string of over 30 coral islands in Cabo Delgado Province, northern Mozambique. It has a tropical climate and receives year-round sunshine and hardly any rainfall. Mozambique is one of the world's top ten diving destinations with spectacular reefscapes, underwater cliffs and tropical sealife. It is also a world-class fishing location.

The island is also a nature reserve, home to many varieties of native, tropical wildlife such as sea turtles, coconut crabs, samango monkeys and over one hundred species of bird. The island asks just one favour of its guests and that is to 'Take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints' in order to preserve this wonderful natural habitat.

The living room is the central decked lounge area leading to the other rooms of the villa. It is ocean-facing with stunning ocean views and the sea breeze maintains a comfortable, cool temperature.

The villa's is very natural throughout with lots of wooden furnishings and features. The couch is large and comfortable with lots of soft cushions and the lounge chairs are perfect for relaxing with a book by the reading lamps.

The bedroom is large and luxurious. The king-sized bed is dressed in beautiful linens, has lots of soft, deep pillows and is surrounded by a white muslin canopy. The lighting is delicate and discreet maintaining an ambient, relaxed atmosphere.

There is plenty of storage space about the room and there are many niches full of soft cushions to relax in. Wake up each morning to the sound of the gentle Indian Ocean and open your eyes to stunning views right from your pillow.

The bathroom is very large and ensuite. It has a beautiful marble shower, dual sinks and mirrors as well as complimentary products from the island's spa.

All towel are provided and are changed daily. The bathroom, like the rest of the villa is very natural with wooden floors and features. All the fixtures are to a very high standard.

The island has so much to offer. There are secluded, romantic getaway spots, miles of coral beach to stroll along and plenty of exciting activities such as whale watching, world-class fishing and scuba diving and sea-kayaking. Some of the more relaxed activities available are yoga, reiki, shiatsu and a range of massage therapies.

The lodge is a natural meeting place with a beautiful, open dining area and bar. There is also a restaurant on the island on the south beach or you could choose to dine in the privacy of your own villa or even take you meal down to a quiet stretch of beach. The choice is yours. All food is locally sourced, expertly prepared and presented and best of all, all included!
