VILLA ILHA CRESCENTE FEATURES & ROOM DESCRIPTIONS

This luxury villa is made from local materials and constructed in a typical Mozambique style and roofed with palm thatching called 'makuti'. It is ocean-facing and commands its own position on the beach. The villa is designed and positioned to capture as much of the ocean breeze as possible keeping the interiors at a comfortable temperature. From every room, the views of the Indian Ocean are breathtaking of the white coral beaches and the blues of the Indian Ocean are virtually indescribable ranging from cobalt and turquoise to ultramarine.

The island is located in the Quirimbas Archipelago, a string of over 30 coral islands in Cabo Delgado Province, northern Mozambique. It has a tropical climate and receives year-round sunshine and hardly any rainfall. Mozambique is one of the world's top ten diving destinations with spectacular reefscapes, underwater cliffs and tropical sealife. It is also a world-class fishing location.

The island is also a nature reserve, home to many varieties of native, tropical wildlife such as sea turtles, coconut crabs, samango monkeys and over one hundred species of bird. The island asks just one favour of its guests and that is to 'Take nothing but photos and leave nothing but footprints' in order to preserve this wonderful natural habitat.

The living room is the central decked lounge area leading to the other rooms of the villa. It is ocean-facing with stunning ocean views and the sea breeze maintains a comfortable, cool temperature. The sun veranda is to the front of the lounge and is equipped with luxury sunloungers.

The villa is very natural throughout with lots hand-carved wooden furnishings and features. The couch is large and comfortable with lots of soft cushions and the ltheir are plenty of cozy alcoves dotted about the room to relax in.

This bedroom is large and luxurious. The king-sized bed is dressed in beautiful linen with lots of soft, deep pillows. The canopy and decor are made with beautiful, natural fabrics. The lighting is delicate and discreet maintaining an ambient, relaxed atmosphere.

There is plenty of storage space about the room and there are many niches full of soft cushions to relax in. This bedroom is ocean-facing with stunning views of the Indian Ocean ready to greet you each morning.

This bedroom is quieter and located to the rear of the villa, ideal for younger children. It is a double room but triples can be arranged for children under the age of sixteen. This room has a smaller ensuite bathroom and faces towards the centre of the island. It is also furnished with hand-carved furnishings and natural fabrics and there are mosquito nets around each bed.

There are two ensuite bathrooms. The first is large and located off the main bedroom. The second is smaller and located to the rear of the villa. They are equipped with beautiful marble showers, complimentary products from the island's spa and all towels are changed daily. The bathrooms, like the rest of the villa are very natural with wooden floors and features. All the fixtures are to a very high standard.

The island has so much to offer with plenty of activities to choose from to suit adults and children alike. Take a sea cruise and go whale watching which is akin to a full-on marine biology lesson or go scuba diving in one of the world top dive destination. PADI instructors and scuba equipment are at your disposal on the island with children’s equipment also available. Some of the more relaxing activities include yoga, reiki, shiatsu and a range of massage therapies.

The lodge is beautiful with an open-plan split-level design which stretches along the treeline, taking advantage of the ocean vistas. The sunset bar is aptly named and positioned close to the water’s edge and there is also a restaurant on the south beach. You can choose whether you wish to dine in the restaurant, on the beach or on your own veranda. All food is locally sourced, expertly prepared and presented and best of all, all included!
